How to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of online advertising identifiers, and how MDChat Inc. ("MDChat", "we", "us") protects your health information.
1. What this page covers
California (CCPA/CPRA) and several other state privacy laws give you the right to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. This page explains what that means for MDChat, reaffirms that your health information is never shared with advertisers, and tells you exactly how to make a request today.
2. We do not sell your information for money
We do not sell your personal information for money. However, like most websites, MDChat may allow advertising and analytics partners to collect certain online identifiers — such as cookies, device identifiers, or IP address — when you use our marketing pages. Under California and other state privacy laws, that activity can itself be treated as a “sale” or “sharing.” You have the right to opt out of it, and you can do so using the request mechanism in §5 below.
3. Your health information is never shared with advertisers
MDChat maintains a strict health-data firewall. Your consumer health data — your symptoms, conditions, the assessment, your messages in the chat, and any clinical or prescription records — is never used for advertising, never shared with advertising platforms, and never used to target ads to you. We do not place advertising pixels on the chat, intake, assessment, account, or clinical pages.
Because we never share health information with advertisers in the first place, there is no opt-out to perform for that data — the protection applies to everyone, automatically. The opt-out on this page concerns only the online advertising/analytics identifiers described in §2.
4. How we honor opt-out requests today
We are building an automated control so you can opt out with a single click. Until that control is live, we honor opt-out requests manually. To opt out of the “sale”/“sharing” of your advertising identifiers — or to exercise your other state privacy rights (know, access, correct, delete) — email us at privacy@mdchat.com and include:
- The request you are making (for example, “opt out of sale/sharing”).
- The email address and/or phone number associated with your use of MDChat.
- The state you reside in, so we can apply the rights available to you.
We will confirm and process your request within the timeframe required by applicable law, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights. We may need to verify your identity before completing certain requests.
5. Global Privacy Control (GPC)
Some browsers and extensions can send a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal that communicates an opt-out preference on your behalf. We intend to honor GPC signals where required by law. Automated, real-time GPC honoring is still being implemented; until it is live, the most reliable way to ensure your preference is recorded is to send the request described in §4. We will update this page when automated GPC handling is in place.
